Running. Down by the river.

Saturday was 4.5 miles with new friends, a pre-season meet up with some members of Team Luna Chix Portland Run.
It was so easy. The morning was gorgeous. We ran across two bridges (Steel and Burnside I think?) and along the river on both sides. The Esplanade. The Waterfront Park Trail. Places many Portlanders have recommended for running since I’ve moved here.
Afterward, there were mimosas and breakfast waiting for us. Unfortunately I had to work so I didn’t get to partake in the mimosas but the healthy bites and the company was lovely!
I’m really looking forward to getting to know these women better. There are 10 of us who are joining forces from April to October to put on a weekly women’s running group and raise money for the Luna Breast Cancer Fund. It’s been a long time since I’ve been a part of a weekly running group and I’m EXCITED!
Who is Team Luna Chix Portland Run?
We are a free, all female, all ages, all ability running group meeting around the Portland area every Monday evening, from April to October. We promote getting women moving and active. You don’t have to be a runner; we welcome anyone who wants to try new things and be active!
Our free weekly group runs will be posted on our FACEBOOK page and via TWITTER. If anyone wants to join us, follow us on these social channels to get the latest updates.
Join us Monday, April 6th!
We’re meeting from 6:30-7:30pm at Lincoln HS track in Portland. We’ll have plenty of free LUNA bars after the run.
Why did I forget that you live in Portland?! I live in Eugene! AHHH. Exciting to know that we’re close. What a great group and endeavor to be a part of. I haven’t done group runs for a long time, and it’s time to start up again. : ) And, I can’ wait to run that same route some day. I have biked it, but never run, and what a beautiful time of year with those trees! Go get ’em!
We ought to hang out soon. 😀
Awesome! I love the local Luna Chix here in the DC area. They put on an awesome track workout every week!! Great group!
Cool! I hope we become that kinda group here in PDX.
