I’ve stopped at “The Skirt Bar” at several marathon expo’s but couldn’t pass up the opportunity to visit the flagship store in Encinitas!
It was an easy stop on the way to the San Diego marathon expo, and I had been thinking about those compression socks for a while. I also got one of the strappy purple tanks to go with my TNT purple argyle skirt.
The runningskirts.com store was small but very stylish and it was fun to see all the items, colors, and prints in person. I was excited to see they had some plastic sale bins full of skirts, but wasn’t able to find one in my size. They were also selling special Elvis skirt-costumes complete with cape and side-burned sunglasses. I almost tried one on but I knew that if I did I’d want to buy it as well. I exercised self-control. Maybe for next year….
Anyway, as I said before, I got black run love compression socks for the marathon. I’m not sure that I noticed anything helpful or harmful about the compression socks other than my legs being warmer. Although, I will say that my post-marathon recovery was quick and I noticed less soreness than after my other marathoners – even though I wasn’t able to ice bath afterward.
The strappy tank is great. I like the back pocket and the fabric feels lightweight and cool. Also, I much prefer the strappy tan lines to sleeve lines. If it weren’t so expensive, I’d get it in a variety of colors.
Unfortunately, after a full marathon, the phone strap on my arm wore on the fabric of the strappy tank just under the armpit and now it’s a little fuzzy. But I’ll still get some good mileage out of it!
