To say farewell to RunningHutch.com & launch Thoroughly Thriving, I wrote something open, honest, and all-encompassing. There is a lot I haven’t shared recently simply because I haven’t had the time to put it in words, until now. I present to you…

I’m supposed to be training for a marathon, right?
No, a 50k actually! Well, dammit if I haven’t made ANY of the Portland Marathon Clinic Saturday morning runs! Team LUNA Chix on Monday nights has done me well but I am sorry to say I have been dropping the ball big time on my training plan. Meanwhile, one of my clients is doing great with increasing her mileage and I’m feeling like a “Do as I say, not as I do” fraud. ENOUGH!
[NOTE: I wrote this next part prior to the actual run, but failed to post this prior to the run. However, I decided to keep it because, well…see how the run actually turned out here.]
Also, I have a 10k this Sunday. It’s a Rum Run.
I’m sure running 6.2 miles will be a nice, long, slow lesson in why it’s time to prioritize running! I plan on finishing, not fast, but with a determination to kick it (marathon training) in to high gear. I’ll drink my finish line mojito and let it wash down all my guilt feelings so I can move foward with a positive mindset on training.
Seriously, this rebrand is going live TONIGHT [probably already has by the time most of you read this]. I am SO excited for the new site to be up! Mostly because I’m so over the process of rebranding and all the little decisions that had to be made. Also because it will be better. 😀
I hate that I don’t have time to do all that I’d like with my blog (said anyone who ever had a hobby ever). I also hate that I can’t do as much with RunThisYear and my awesome runners.
The problem is… that I’m not just frustrated by it but I also feel GUILTY about it – which is a testament to my all-in, my-word-is-gold, I-must-do-all-the-things, personality. Woof! Speaking of….
The Mox, as we often call her, is my pride and joy. Except when she needlessly barks at other dogs nearby. Then she’s my bane and shame. After going through her first heat cycle she has become SO much more…dominant?…than before. While she’s NOT aggressive, per say (she doesn’t want to attack other dogs), she seems to think her first impression should let other dogs know she’s tough and ready to play rough! 🙁
Also, she seems to still be battling tummy issues and it’s starting to drive me sadmad. I thought we’d fixed the issue but something is still not right.
I have a MAJOR case of first world problems, here. I am both excited and frustrated about the new house. Mainly frustrated with planning the furnishings/decorations. I have lots of ideas but worry they’ll turn out horribly. I HATE how awesome the Houzz website can be, but how they control you by not letting you pin anything and making you sign up to see all the design ideas they’ve collected. Jerks.
Anywho…the plan seems to be taking possession early July and slowly moving things in through mid August. Can survive being a home owner?
We want to start visiting churches in our new home town but it’s 40 minutes away and…time is precious. Too precious, it seems to connect with other believers and make time to be open to what God has to say. And also, I’m being scheduled on Sundays more and more.
So yes, in running and in faith, my priorities seem to be all whacky.
Step 1 = recognize.
Step 2 = FIX it.
Confession: When I visit new churches, a part of me feels ready to cut and run in case they turn out to be a weird cult. :-/
J and I had “the talk” again. The one where we consider making mini verisons of ourselves.
We decided it’s time. Life pieces are falling in to place and now, finally, the idea of kids seems exciting and totally worth it. “It” being the dramatic change he/she/they will bring to every aspect of our life and especially my body. So there it is.
