Last Friday we picked up the keys for our brand new, first ever, very own home. This sucker was literally just built so we’re new, she’s new, this is all so new!
We currently have ZERO neighbors (except the ones behind us). Our house was the first one built in this section of the new development and so she stands alone.
There is literally 14 squares of concrete sidewalk right in front of our property and thats it. They won’t put the rest in until they build the other houses.
So, on the hottest weekend of the year (to date…I hear next weekend will be HOTTER), we started moving some things in. Triple digits be damned!
Camp Living Room
Who needs a couch when you have rubbermaid tubs and lawn chairs?
Our first night in the new house we had wine, pizza, and invited friends over. To break-in the new place, Moxie ran in and out of EVERY room, rubbing her furry body all over the floors, and I spilled a bit of rosé on the new carpet. Now it is unmistakably and irrevocably OURS.
Our First Night
We have our apartment until August, but our new home has AIR CONDITIONING!
We wanted to sleep there. After all, it was our first day as home owners. We brought Moxie (but not her crate). We brought pillows (but not our bed). The first night in our new home was a hot mess of puppy cuddles, restlessness, and an early morning wake up from our curtain-less windows. It is so BRIGHT at 5AM!
In Other News
My calves have been CRAZY stiff. I KNOW I need new running shoes (read about how I’ve trialled 7 pairs already), but damn. Rolling them out on a barbell is evil bliss. Does anyone else do this?
It’s a little known fact, but ice cream becomes less unhealthy if you add tons of fresh fruit to it! Lol. I wish. But these hot days HAVE been a bear (I swear I still live in SoCal), and cold treats have been my undoing lately.
