When I knew we were moving to Portland, I started researching what a new life for Moxie would be like. I love how dog friendly Portland is! Not only that, I was thrilled to discover that there is a Portland Ridgeback Romp that meets once a month. Today was Moxie’s first trip to the romp.
Here she’s saying, “Can I PLEASE be let off my leash to play?”
A lovely woman named Karen organizes the romp. Not sure how long ago it started. But it’s clear that several of these ridgies know and love each other.

Moxie watches the other dogs play at first, not sure if she wants to join in.
Well, she decided to run into the fray and got chased. She is used to being able to run away from anything. These dogs were full grown and faster than her!
She got a little scared.
Luckily, her mom was nearby to run to for safety.
We loved how friendly and kind all the humans were.
Moxie enjoyed exploring and skirting the edge of the trails.
We wondered all over the trails at Sandy River Delta (1000 Acres Park).
The river! Moxie watched the other dogs wet their whistles.
She felt safe so long as mom was nearby.
Eventually she was ready to play again.
But as soon as it got a little too exciting, she came back to mom.
“I think I’m ready to go home now, mom”.
Before we left we grabbed a shot with the instafamous Mister Dutch and his girl Nala.
