This marks the beginning of a beautiful blog series surrounding BlogFest at IDEA World.
If you haven’t heard of it, just know that it is the biggest, most exciting conference for health/fitness bloggers. Many brave and brainy folks are behind putting this conference together!
Jamie King is one of those brains, so let’s get to know her a little better, shall we?
You may know Jamie from FitApproach and SweatGuru. Yes, her beautiful brains have been behind many amazing projects, not the least of which is the super active community of SweatPink Ambassadors! Read on for a few fun questions and answers from Jamie (and my comments in italics thrown in. 😉
So, Jamie, how do you SweatPink?
What has been one of your BIGGEST challenges this last year?
Oh gosh – a tough question! While moving to a brand new city (and state!) has been a huge challenge for me this year, I think the biggest to date has been having to DNF yet another 100 miler – this time just 10 miles short of a finish. It was not only a brutal physical challenge but even more so, a brutal mental challenge. I had struggled and fought so hard for that first 90 miles and even though my body said it was time to stop running, my mind didn’t want to let me stop. And after it was all said and done, I kept replaying the event over and over and over in my mind…the most challenging thing I’ve probably done since then is to just let it go and move forward.
Tiffany: Damn. I cannot even.
How did BlogFest come about?
BlogFest with Sweat Pink is the brainchild of the IDEAfit and Fit Approach teams. It was our way to bring together the best in fitness education, workouts, and social media all under one roof. We’re so excited to be hosting our second year together and know that the social media education, workouts, speakers, and networking are going to be even better than last year (if you can believe that!).
Tiffany: Last year was pretty amazing so…I don’t know. I trust you, though.
What do YOU look forward to the most about BlogFest?
Honestly, what I look forward to most is seeing friends, making new connections and learning from everyone there. Last year I walked away from BlogFest with so many amazing new connections and felt more inspired and empowered than ever before.
Tiffany: Agreed! Connecting with others in person and networking is THE BEST.
Any advice for bloggers wanting to “go pro” with their blog as a business?
Alright, what is one thing you’re looking forward too in this next year?
I almost can’t believe this (even as I say it)…. but the Sweat Pink community is turning four years old on June 21 (omg, omg, omg!!!). On our birthday, we’ll be kicking off a fun #1millionminutes challenge with the entire Sweat Pink community – honoring our commitment to getting more people moving through encouragement, motivation and inspiration.
Tiffany: Seriously?! No way. I don’t feel like I’m that old in blog years! How exciting.
