SO MUCH TO DO! SO LITTLE TIME!
With a lump of days left in this year, 2015 crunch time is upon us. Once again I want to do more than I can, realistically, but am confident I’ve got my priorities lined up. Here is a mishmash of a “life lately” log, one theme at a time.
Random Thought Of The Day
I don’t get into the political/religious debates, but with recent world events and the epidemic of negativity spreading, there is one thing I have a growing conviction about:
As a follower of Christ and reader of the Bible, MY JOB is to love my enemies, speak for those who can’t speak for themselves, and be willing to put the interests of others above my own. The moment I become motivated by fear and hate is the moment my faith begins to die.
Random, but it’s been weighing on my heart lately as I’ve seen so many people who have been loving toward me now speaking out of fear and hate and it is gut wrenching.
NASM CPT Study
I’m hitting the books/apps/forums/prep tests hard! This app is helping a lot.
Latin muscles names? Abeamus!
Overhead Squat Assessment? Droppin’ it like it’s hot!
Cardiorespiratory adaptation? To the VO2 Max, baby!
So yeah, I feel confident if I took the test now I’d fail with a 50%.
However, I’ve got one more month to feel confident I can pass with at least a 70% and I’m 100% positive I can do that by then.
Growing A Baby Boy
Doc said she saw a penis on the ultrasound!
We’re taking her word for it because this just looks like fuzzy blobs to me.
For right now being pregnant feels like a 1 pound fish is flopping around in my stomach. 23 weeks and I guess I’m kind of fond of the little guy in a weird “Stop thrashing, that’s annoying, but…well I’m glad you’re still there” kind of way.
Right now it’s looking like getting in 1 to 3 miles on about 3 days of the week. I could say this was because of the pregnancy but that would be a lie. Truth is, the weather is really what’s keeping from the run. Wet + cold + low visibility = Tiffany wants to stay by the fire inside where it is “comfy coze”, as I say. Fortunately I’ve finally started making local friends.
And guess what? They live in my neighborhood!
And guess what? They want to get out and walk/jog too!
And guess what? They’re moms so 6AM is the only time they can make it happen!
And guess what? That means I’m out for a walk/jog and done before the sun rises!
Previously, on Design On A Coupon Budget, Tiffany had started a wall mural and a canvas painting. Read about that here. Now they’re finished! I’ll celebrate, shortly, and then start on the next list of nesting to-dos.
The Wall Mural
The Rocking Chair
When I put antlers on her, Moxie believes I’m inviting the wrath of Krampus on myself.
Actually, I welcome, Christmas!
We’ve recently made an honest effort (finally) to get involved in the local church community and make friends. We’ve got some social things on the calendar. We’re spritzing up the house holiday-spirit-style. We’re looking forward to a quiet Christmas at home, no family coming to visit, and then celebrating the New Year and all the crazy adventure 2016 is going to bring. Yikes.
If you haven’t done your Year End Reflections yet, now is a good time. I’ll have mine for 2015 up soon.
